Andrea is a journalist, freelance writer, producer, videographer/photographer and communications strategist. She is also the author of the children’s tree book The Wish Trees.

She is a member of The Canadian Children’s Book Centre, has a Masters degree in journalism, has worked for CBC Newsworld and Newsworld International as well as various other news agencies. Andrea also worked for Greenpeace during the campaign to save The Great Bear Rainforest. Andrea founded The ChariTree Foundation, Canada’s children’s environmental charity.

Charitree strives to give as many children as we can a tree of their own. It’s about supporting environmental education programs for children by giving kids a tree to plant at their home, camp or school that is native to their region ~ and an opportunity to connect with nature and contribute positively to their world.

In 2011, she was awarded the national Canadian Camping Association Award of Excellence for her efforts to give children trees. Andrea is also an award-winning TVOntario Telefest documentary producer, executive producer at Russell Hill Productions and Summerhill by the Sea Productions, the lyricist for the Shannon Robinson song My Persephone, a children’s charity founder and an all-round creative soul.
